While I'm not a big fan of black-colored bibs for heat-of-summer riding--it's why I have navy and grey bibs from The Black Bibs--the new construction of these summer-focused bibs has me rethinking the whole thing. These are "ultimate" bibs, so they come with the power band, upgraded chamois, and no pockets; the mesh material used in the leg panels *breathes* so much better than the standard bibs/shorts material. Traditional material is still used for parts of the construction--although "heavier," it's probably better from an engineering standpoint, and will stand up to certain types of abuse better--but the overall effect is like no other bibshorts I've worn. For my first try with them, I wore these on an unseasonably warm day; it wasn't hot in an objective sense--low 80s--but humidity was high and it was subjectively hot because it had been in the 60s until that day so I wasn't heat adapted yet. These worked great and were comfortable through the entire effort, and I barely noticed the sun on me, unlike what I'd come to expect with "regular" black bibs.
